If you have a dstv explora 2 (small size), then you can only record 110 hrs of your favorite programing and if you have a dstv Explora (big size), then you have 220 hrs. of your favorite programing
Total recording space may vary depending on the mix of HD and SD recording
To make a recording;
- Press i button on your remote
- Press the up & down arrow buttons in the middle of the remote to select/highlight the program or episode to record
- Press ok button on your remote and select the record option that you may want at the time
If the programme selected for recording will be starting at a later time, it will be listed as scheduled recording and will appear under schedules in planner
Scheduled recordings can be edited or deleted at any time
When a programme has recorded it will appear under playlist in Watch Now and if for any reason the programme failed to record, it will be listed under failed recordings in schedules
Manual Recordings
If you, let say, want to always record the first 10 minutes of the news each morning, so as quickly catch up on the new headlines, you can do that with manual recording
- Go to planner
- & Select Manual Recording
Manual Recordings can be scheduled once off, daily, weekly or just on the week days.
You can also set manual recordings from the actions list that appears when you press ok on any programme you may currently be viewing
Remote recording
This is a feature that enable you to schedule a recording while away from home using the DStv now App or the Dstv Tv Guide
You will need to be to be connected to the internet for this to happen
Why Dstv Explora Recordings Fail
All remote recording take priority so if there are any other scheduled recordings in progress or in conflict and re-scheduled where possible
If remote recordings are failing then its probably because the you have not paid for the service or that your pvr decoder is switched off at home or if its on then its not connected to the internect
Dstv recording on a dstv explora may also fail if the disk space is full and as a result there is no more space for the recordings to be saved
