The BE1 DStv error is a hardware error suggesting corrupt flash memory, this could be caused by power surges, dips and failures and as a solution.
Resetting the decoder can resolve the be1 error dstv error only if the data in the flash memory is corrupt.
If the dstv error be1 persists this would suggest that the decoder memory is beyond repair. Replacing the decoder would be the last option left for you to take

Please note that you need to use the front panel of your decoder, not the remote:
- The decoder must be switched on
- Press the RESET button on the Front Panel
- Wait for the dl to appear on the Front Panel
- In quick succession press the STANDBY, then P-, then GUIDE, then STANDBY on the FrontPanel
- The blue loader screen will launch, and the download will start – it will take approximately25 minutes
- Do not interrupt the download process and wait for normal video and audio to resume
If this does not clear the error on the decoder, advise the customer to take their decoder to the Nearest Multichoice Branch or Agency to perform the upgrade for them.
