A recovery procedure is performed when the decoder is misbehaving, for example when it has a frozen picture and not operable via the remote control, when there is loss of video or sound on some channels. The recovery procedure will reset the decoder and clear all the temporary information stored on the decoder ram. In certain instances, it will be necessary to perform this procedure more than once before the decoder can recover the original settings.
If the decoder does not recover after performing the recovery procedure, it might indicate that the decoder is faulty.
