Some common problem that may affect your viewing may include Missing channels, Freezing of the picture while viewing, Loss of video and audio on the decoder while viewing
Now before you conclude that the decoder is faulty, try how to reset dstv decoder to factory settings and below are the steps for the different decoder types.
For the HD decoder types the zapper decoder and explorer decoder
- Menu / Blue Button
- Setting
- System settings
- Reset decoder settings
- Reset to factory default
Decoder will restart shortly
- Select language
- Select satellite type
- Select quick set up
- Select Decoder 1 for single installation or select Decoder 2 or Decoder 3 for xtraview installations
- Select LNB type – for Explorers it should be SatCR or similar for zapper decoders it should be Universal
- Lastly select SCAN at the bottom or the screen, decoder will scan for a while, collecting the channels, then you will start viewing.
For the 1131 or 1132 decoders
- Menu
- Advanced options
- Dish Installation
- Reset to Factory Default
