The DStv Smart LNB has been specially designed for use in non-commercial DStv installations
✓ It is a high band capable, ensuring that the installation can receive these signals in the future
✓ Multiple decoders can be connected to the DStv Smart LNB without the need for a multiswitch / DStv Switch (which saves the customer money)
✓ The cable goes directly from the DStv Smart LNB to the decoder. The result is:
- A shorter cable run
- Decoders can now be placed in different rooms. This means a more flexible installation (including easier connections between HD decoders and HD TVs via HDMI cables)
✓ Where the DStv Smart LNB is installed, the customer does not have to change their LNB when upgrading to XtraView. The Smart LNB will provide enough user bands to supply up to three PVRs, each with up to eight tuners.
✓ The DStv Smart LNB has 24 user bands, 4 unicable outputs (BLUE) and 2 universal outputs (WHITE)
The Smart LNB will act as a common connecting point for all decoders in the home and allow MoCa (Multimedia over Co-axial) communications between them. The Smart LNB supports legacy STBs as it has two universal outputs.
