Any one in a home can watch anything and all kinds of entertainment from the DSTv or GOTv entertainment catalogue but not all content in relevant, some is age restricted.
If you have young ones at home and you don’t want them watch irrelevant content, you can apply parental control on your decoder
This will allow you to block channel you don’t want to be accessed. Steps quite differ on the different decoders but the end result is the same.
Parental control on a dstv HD decoder, explorer, zappa
- Menu / Blue button
- Settings
- System settings
- Parental control
- Channel Blocking – make sure it’s set to On
- Select block channels – Here you select channel you may want to block
- Change pin – Here you create a special pin, one that you will remember

- Menu
- Parental Control – on the screen you will have options to change pin , as well an option to select which channels you may want to block
Note that If you have never set a parental control pin before, the default pin is always 0000
